Dan de Boer

Dan de Boer is Interim Chief Executive Officer of Greenbacker, and also serves as the company's Head of Infrastructure. He joined the company in 2023, bringing nearly two decades of experience in private equity and renewable energy investing. Prior to joining Greenbacker, Dan served as the Head of Renewables at Allianz Capital Partners of America, where he led all aspects of the investment lifecycle and played a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of their sustainable infrastructure platform. During that time and earlier, he successfully acquired and financed GWs of solar, wind, and storage projects, raised substantial private equity funds, and effectively managed investment platforms. Prior to Allianz, Dan spent time developing solar projects with VivoPower International Plc, established Onyx Renewable Partners LP within Blackstone Energy Partners, and launching D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments while part of the D. E. Shaw Group's private equity team. Dan received an MBA with honors from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from Yale University.

Carl Weatherley-White

As the Interim Chief Financial Officer and Head of Capital Markets, Carl oversees Greenbacker's accounting and finance team and manages the financing of the company's diverse project portfolio. He oversees tax equity and project financing for GREC’s pre-operating asset fleet and pursues opportunities to optimize GREC’s existing capital structure within the rapidly evolving infrastructure capital markets. Carl brings a wealth of experience in infrastructure financing, particularly in the renewable energy sector. Before joining Greenbacker, he served as the Head of Renewable Investments at Advantage Capital. In this capacity, he led the creation of the firm’s renewable energy tax credit syndication platform and played a pivotal role in originating and structuring over $1.5 billion in tax credit investments. Previously, he held the positions of CEO and CFO at VivoPower International, a global energy infrastructure firm. During his tenure, he played a key role in the company’s successful IPO on NASDAQ and, subsequently, took the helm in actively steering the organization’s growth strategy. His previous experience includes Managing Director & Group Head of Global Project Finance at Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers and Director of Energy Structured Finance at Credit Suisse.

David Sher

David oversees all strategic business development efforts as President of Greenbacker Capital Management. Prior to co-founding the firm in 2011, he was a senior adviser at Prospect Capital, a leading publicly traded business development company. He has been a serial entrepreneur in the financial services industry, having co-founded ESP Technologies—a leading provider of financial software and services to institutional asset managers and hedge funds—as well as two other companies, ElephantX Dot Com and Lafayette Capital Management. He also worked at Bear Stearns, developing trading strategies for institutional and brokerage correspondent clearing customers. David graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Political Science and received his MIA from the School of International Public Affairs at Columbia University.

Matt Murphy

Matt is the firm’s Chief Operations Officer, overseeing operation and maintenance, fleet performance, and technical due diligence on transactions. He joined the firm in 2016, coming from Borrego Solar, where he served as Director of Operations and Maintenance (O&M). In this position, he oversaw a 500 megawatt fleet of solar power plants across 11 states, managed a national O&M team, and was responsible for the highest level of escalation in the department. In a previous role at Peck Electric, Matt was instrumental in creating and running Peck’s solar photovoltaics (PV) division. While there, Matt oversaw the design, development, construction, and maintenance of solar PV capacity totaling over 5 megawatts. Matt also has many years of experience teaching both PV construction and troubleshooting to electricians across several states and is certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy.

Debi Lee

Debi is the Chief People Officer at Greenbacker, overseeing the firm’s people strategy. Since joining the company in 2024, she has developed and led initiatives to progress talent management, diversity, equity & inclusion, employee engagement, performance management, leadership development, compensation strategies, and people analytics. With more than 20 years of experience in strategic HR executive and leadership roles, she has guided organizations through critical transformations including Ipsos, Deutsche Bank, American Express, JPMorgan Chase, and AIG. Debi is an ICF ACC credentialed coach and served on various boards including Minds Matter of NYC, Inc. and the Human Capital Advisory Committee at Ronald McDonald House of NYC. She holds a degree from Cornell University.

Claude Vuillieme

Claude is an EVP at Greenbacker and leads all legal activities at the firm, serving as General Counsel. She joined the company in 2022, before which she was Senior Fund Counsel at Global Infrastructure Partners, where she was responsible for overseeing all fund matters, including product design for equity and credit products, as well as negotiation with investors. Previously, Claude served as Deputy General Counsel at I Squared Capital (an infrastructure fund) for over seven years, overseeing general corporate and transactional matters, including fund formation, fundraising, co-investments, and compliance and regulatory activities. Claude began her career at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in New York after graduating from Paris II Pantheon – ASSAS UNIVERSITY and completing her LLM at Columbia University School of Law, in New York.

Brandon Praznik

Brandon is the head of business development and is responsible for the execution of all capital raising initiatives across the business. He has over 10 years of experience in the financial services and alternative investment industries. This includes his position as a regional vice president for Strategic Capital, an open architecture wholesale distribution platform for public and private real estate investment programs, credit and lending programs, and other alternative investments, including the distribution of Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company’s public program. Prior to that, he served as the National Product Manager for energy products at Realty Capital Securities. Brandon began his career at Morgan Stanley, where he performed various roles within the distribution of their investment management platform. He holds a BA in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University.

Benjamin Baker

As Managing Partner of GDEV Management, Ben is responsible for GDEV’s strategic focus and capital formation. He also plays a key role in the origination and execution of GDEV’s investment activity. Ben brings deep experience across the renewable energy industry, having held positions in both development (Delaware River Solar, Safari Energy) and private equity (Hudson Clean Energy, GE EFS). Ben began his career in power and utilities investment banking and holds both a BA and an MBA from Columbia University.

David Zackowitz

David Zackowitz is a Managing Director and Head of Greenbacker Real Estate, where he is responsible for overseeing the firm’s sustainable real estate investment strategy. David has over 20 years of experience in real estate principal investments, asset management, and portfolio company oversight. He has acquired and implemented value-add strategies for $25 billion of commercial properties. Prior to joining Greenbacker, David spent seven years working in both acquisitions and asset management at Blackstone and previously held senior roles investing in and restructuring distressed real estate at C-III Capital Partners and the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy estate. David began his career as a member of Lehman’s Global Real Estate Group in 2001, where he spent seven years underwriting, structuring, and acquiring real estate investments throughout the US. David received a BS in Policy Analysis and Management from Cornell University.

David Foss

As Greenbacker's Treasurer and Head of Finance, David is responsible for managing the company's liquidity, financial forecasting, and valuation activities across the organization. He has 20 years of corporate finance and accounting experience in the renewable energy and financial services industries and in public accounting. Since joining the company in 2021, David has contributed to financial reporting to shareholders, including the net asset value process, building out internal budgeting and forecasting process, and supporting long-term strategic planning. Prior to joining the company, he was responsible for all corporate finance and accounting processes at a multi-national, publicly traded financial services company. David began his career in assurance at KPMG. He holds both a BA in Corporate Finance and Accounting and an MSA from Bentley University and is a certified public accountant in the state of Massachusetts.
